Um jovem muito arrogante, que estava assistindo a um jogo de futebol, tomou para si a responsabilidade de explicar a um senhor já maduro, próximo dele, porque era impossível a alguém da velha geração entender esta geração.

..."Vocês cresceram em um mundo diferente, um mundo quase primitivo!", o estudante disse alto e claro de modo que todos em volta pudessem ouvi-lo.

"Nós, os jovens de hoje, crescemos com Internet , celular , televisão, aviões a jato, viagens espaciais, homens caminhando na Lua, nossas espaçonaves tendo visitado Marte. Nós temos energia nuclear, carros elétricos e a hidrogênio, computadores com grande capacidade de processamento e ....," - fez uma pausa para tomar outro gole de cerveja.

O senhor se aproveitou do intervalo do gole para interromper a liturgia do estudante em sua ladainha e disse:

- Você está certo, filho. Nós não tivemos essas coisas quando éramos jovens porque estávamos ocupados em inventá-las.
E você, um bostinha arrogante dos dias de hoje, o que está fazendo para a próxima geração?

My Only Sunshine

Ciara Williams (25) and Lashawna Threatt (30)

 On May 27th, 2011 was the day the beautiful Lashawna Threatt turned 30 years old, and to celebrate that special day she gathered few friends and family for a nice glamorous dinner party in Atlantic Station in Atlanta and a weekend of fun at the W Hotel in midtown.  But what was supposed to be a night of celebration turned deadly for Lashawna. 

Today marks the 1 month anniversary of this tragic event.  Around 3:15am Lashawna and a handful of friends arrived back at the W Hotel after a wonderful night out in town celebrating her day. It was late and as best friends Ciara Williams and Lashawna were hugging and saying their goodbyes in room 2012, the window breaks and both girls goes flying out right before everyone's eyes. 

The window completely shattered, sending both girls who were leaning on the glass out in the dark night, 10 stories below laid Ciara Williams, still alive, but on the 5th floor laid Lashawna Threatt, dead.

Absolutely tragic, horrible, and heart breaking. I did not know Lashawna personally but her story has touched so many hearts and we are mourning and questions about the window still hasn't been answered. But  what really involved me to this story, is that 25 year old Ciara Williams, the woman who survived this fall through God's Will and Grace is one of my close and dearest friend. 

While Lashawna's family are grieving the loss of the beautiful woman full of personality they have lost overnight in a freak accident, the family and friends of Ciara Williams are by her side at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, while she is severely injured, in unstable condition, praying for her improvement.

Ciara is reportedly doing better each day, it is a slow road of recovery, but she is now in stable condition. My thoughts and prayers are with my friend each and everyday.

W Hotel should be 100% responsible for this tragic accident, and although a lawsuit won't heal Ciara or bring Lashawna back, it will bring justice to the loved ones who has suffered due to the lack of safety this hotel exposed to their guests.

My boyfriend is a fan of the hilarious animated American TV series

"FAMILY GUY"

so we are always watching new and old episodes of the show

One of our favorite character on the show is the Mexican maid

"Consuela"

She is voiced by Mike Henry,

who modeled her after one of his own former maids.

She speaks very broken English;

for example, she pronounces the word "mister" as "misser"

and uses incorrect sentence structure.

She also answers "NO" for almost everything

and often asks for "Lemon Pledge"

It is HILARIOUS

Coming from a Hispanic background

and knowing a lot of people who do in fact

speak broken English.

It makes this character come to life

in a such comedic and realistic kind of way.

Back to Miami

Tomorrow I leave Waltham MA

after being here for two full weeks

visiting my boyfriend in his basketball

training program.

I'm happy I came,

I saw my boyfriend's living and social environment

we "roughed it out together"

helped each other out

I met some of his wonderful friends

whom also are in the basketball summer program

And best of all I had a chance to reconnect with Talita

who is a childhood friend of mine from Brasil

whom I haven't seen or talked to UNTIL NOW.

and...

Believe it or not

Reconnecting was the easiest thing

we  went back to the same friends we were

when we were little kids in Goiania

Like it was always meant to be <3

But all and all it is definitely time to bounce

bounce back to that Florida Lifestyle

on the beach, at the pool, with friends

and with my mother and father

I have missed them all very much

and I shall not be taking it for granted

While in Waltham we had many extremely boring days

Not to mention it is end of June and its been raining and cold

So two weeks is enough for me

My Monkey Boy

Boy Oh Boy....

How I miss my Monkey Boy!

Missing him is definitely an understatement

But I can't find the exactly words to describe

this immense amount of feeling I feel for him

The desire and urge to see him, to hold him

and just be with him again!

The feeling is so great and strong

I know we are apart for a good reason

and we are both planning and working towards a future together

but sometimes I can't help but wish

we were back at our simple, basic Village A apartment

with our roomates and friends around us

when life was easy and simple...

And we were always together

But I can't deny the fact this is the change in our lives

 we been looking for and wanting it for so long.

For him to have a prosperous and successful career in Basketball

and reap amazing rewards to help ourselves and others.

We are apart during this difficult transition time

from College life to Professional life

and every minute we are growing more and more

as partners and individuals

and I can't wait to see what

God has in stores for us.

In the end it is all worth it

every sweat, every tear, every long distance phone call

to achieve the life we want for ourselves

Happily together

ever after.

Scrapbooking

I recently decided to do something I have always wanted to do, for fun, cuteness, and memories. I started scrapbooking. My theme for my scrapbook is my the first year of my relationship with my boyfriend Julian. (and i must say, he wants this scrapbook more than I do).

Since we plan on being together for years and years to come... I decided we would embrace the experience and memories of our first year of dating, including our college pics, holidays, especial moments, cards, movie stubs, and etc. This will be a very enjoyable experience to gather the many pictures we have taken in the moments we have share, but knowing myself I am extreme perfectionist because I want everything to look amazing as I dreamed of.

DEATH NOTE

My boyfriend recently introduced me to a Japanese anime series, and ever since the first episode, I have been obsessed with it.  I never been a fan of Japanese anime, or at least I never thought I was, until Death Note came along. 

Death Note

A series created by Tsugumi Ohba, where the main character is a high school student  named Light Yagami, and son of a crime investigator officer.  Light Yagami becomes the notorious KIRA (which in Japanese means Killer) after the discovers a supernatural and powerful notebook called "DEATH NOTE" that was dropped on Earth by a God of Death named Ryuk. 

The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose name and face they know, by writing the name in the notebook while picturing their face. The series centers around Light's attempt to create and rule a world "cleansed of evil" as "GOD" using the notebook and the efforts of a detective known as"L", to stop him........

Yesterday my boyfriend and I finished watching the last episode (boo hoo).  I have to admit each and every episode was just as suspenseful and exciting as the first and last, it is one of those shows where you are just addicted to it, and you must watch episodes back to back.  Death Note has no longer been playing on TV, but with the Internet made easy, everyone is able to look it up online and watch all 37 episodes of this amazing anime.
