Açaí na Tigela

Tonight I am going out with a friend to have one of my favorite treat, which is extremely popular here in Brazil, and lately has became popular worldwide.

Açaí na tigela

Found anywhere in Brazil, from your local street deli, to your favorite restaurant (even the fine dining ones) to your snack bar at the gym.  It is a healthy (but believe it or not it is also full of calories, about 1000 in a bowl) treat most people enjoy not for its exotic and amazing taste, but also as a source of energy, and a healthy way to gain the GOOD calaries doctors often recommend. Making this treat very popular amongst men and kids.... :)

and since I am not looking to in-take any more calories, (good or bad, I pass). Every now and then I break the rule and sneak away with a friend to appreciate a tasteful bowl of acai topped with bananas, granola and honey. Ah my favorite.... its like...

 HEAVEN ON EARTH, TASTY!

Açaí na tigela ("açaí in the bowl") is a typical Brazilian dish made of frozen and mashed açaí palm fruit from the Amazonian region. Its preparation in Brazilian southern and northeastern is different from how it is prepared in the Amazonian region. It is served like a smoothie in a bowl or in a glass, is commonly topped with granola, banana, and mixed with other fruits, besides the addition of guaraná syrup. Açaí na tigela is a very appreciated by gym goers and athletes. People from Amazonian region, in northern, usually eats a purest açaí with tapioca flour and fish.

It's quite popular in Rio de Janeiro and also at northeastern coast, where it is sold in most kiosks lining the beach promenade as well as in corner juice bars throughout the cities.
